Lahore, 19 Aug: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Muhammad Ali Durrani has said that Multi-Media Monitoring and Evaluation Cell set up by Nazria-i-Pakistan Foundation will not only play a key role to counter anti-Pakistan propaganda, but also promote the ideology of Pakistan.
He was talking to the newsmen at the launching ceremony of the Multi-Media cell at Aiwan-e-Karkunan-e-Pakistan here on Sunday [19 August]. The aim of this cell is to counter the negative material against Pakistan published or released by all means of communication in any part of the world, he added.
It would also furnish an authentic opinion to the government to take necessary steps against projection of negative image of Pakistan, he added.
The minister said that Pakistan is an ideological state and there is a need to work for protection of its ideology through a "movement" by joining every citizen of the country.
He said that p! romotion of ideology of Pakistan is a best way to negate nefarious designs of anti Pakistan elements who are working to destabilize the country on economic and political fronts.
"Some elements are portraying negative image of Pakistan abroad, but they will not succeed in this regard", he said.
Durrani assured all out cooperation of his ministry and the government to augment the activities of the cell as well as the organizations like Nazria-i-Pakistan Foundation.
He also praised the role of personalities working to promote the ideology of Pakistan with a view to keeping the young generation aware of the historic struggle of their forefathers for achieving a separate homeland for the Muslims of sub-continent. [passage omitted]
