[Unattributed report: "Al-Ma'arifa TV channel to begin transmission on 25 November"]

Khartoum, 14 November: Chairman of Sudan Broadcasting and Television Corporation and head of the board of directors of Al-Ma'arifa (knowledge) TV channel, Dr Amin Hassan Umar, has announced the launching of Al-Ma'arifa TV channel on 25 November from 04:30pm till 09:00pm [local time].

This came at a press conference he held on Wednesday [ 14 November] at the premises of the National TV Corporation. Dr Umar said that the new TV channel will deal with educational issues.
