The study aims to identify the common perceptions and evaluation of the journalistic and scientific community in Egypt, of current transformations and trends in scientific journalism. The study does so, in order to determine the following: 1) The position of scientific journalism in society; 2) The level of scientific news appeal to the Egyptian community; 3) The impact of communication technology on public participation, in the scientific communication. The study relies on a sample survey methodology, with participants being a sample select from the journalistic community, in the scientific departments of Egyptian newspapers, or electronic and scientific news websites, and scientists and senior researchers at Egyptian universities. The results of the study reveal the growing interest in scientific journalism among most of the Egyptian journalistic and scientific community, with a majority of 83.3% of the total respondents expressing their interest in science journalism and its importance. Yet, there still remains a considerable lack of interest in science news by journalists within the journalistic and scientific community. The majority of the journalistic and scientific community (63.3% of all respondents) also perceive the relationship between journalists and scientists as a relationship of cooperation and integration.

فرضت الشبكات الاجتماعية نفسها على أساليب صناعة المحتوى السمعبصري سواء من حيث التقنيات أو طبيعة الإنتاج والاستهلاك، وقد مثلت مساحة من المفترض أن تكون حرة ومتقدمة وقليلة التكاليف بما يسمح للمستخدم المهتم بنوع محدد من المحتوى أن يمارس شكلاً ما من أشكال الإبداع ، وقد عززت هذه المنصات وهذه القدرات الإنتاجية والإبداعية من نشوء محتوى علمي ذي طابع مختلف.

وتأتي هذه الدراسة لتبحث في عناصر البيئة الإبداعية التي تتيحها منصات الاتصال الاجتماعي في صناعة المحتوى العلمي، واعتمدت على منهج دراسة الحالة، وطبق الباحث أدوات الملاحظة والمقابلة مع صانعي المحتوى ومجموعة النقاش المركز مع مختصين بالشبكات الاجتماعية ومراقبين وباحثين.

وتوصلت الدراسة إلى عدة نتائج أهمها: أن الشبكات الاجتماعية يسرت من الحالة الإبداعية ودعمت حالة الإنتاج بعيداً عن القيود المؤسسية المفروضة في الإعلام التقليدي، وأن المحتوى العلمي من أصعب الأشكال الإبداعية ، وأن الإبداع في المحتوى العلمي يتجلى في تيسير سبل الوصول السهل للمتلقي، وأن احتكاك المحتوى العلمي بالدين والسياسة يجعله حساساً ومثيراً للمشكلات، وأن نجاح المحتوى العلمي يفترض بناء نموذج أعمال ناجح.
