Afghan minister complains to Iranian envoy about TV serial

Text of report in Pashto, "Abdol Karim Khorram meets acting Iranian ambassador", published by state-owned Afghan newspaper Hewad on 29 December

Minister of Information and Culture Mohammad Karim Khorram met Mr Mohyeddin Najafi, the acting ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the other day.

The acting Iranian ambassador complained about articles in some Afghan publications which he said were anti-Iranian and harmful.

The minister of information and culture also mentioned Chahar Khuneh, a TV serial on channel four of Iran TV, which he said had displeased his compatriots.

The two sides also discussed further expansion of bilateral cultural ties at the meeting and stressed programmes which can further strengthen friendship should be broadcast.
