Al-Jazeera shows video of Al-Aqsa TV worker reportedly shot by Israeli Army

BBC Monitoring

Al-Jazeera Satellite Channel Television in Arabic at 1201 gmt on 5 July carries the following announcer-read report over video: "Imad Ghanim, a journalist at the Hamas-affiliated Al-Aqsa Satellite Channel, was seriously wounded as a result of an obvious Israeli insistence on directly shooting him. The videotape shows Imad Ghanim covering the Israeli incursion into the east of Al-Burayj refugee camp as an Israeli bullet put him down."

It is not exactly known yet what happened to Ghanim after the second and third bullets were fired at him as we saw a short while ago.

Imad Ghanim is now struggling with death because of Israel's keenness not to have eyewitnesses to its crimes."

Al-Jazeera TV then carries an exclusive footage showing a cameraman lying on the ground and being fired at. Another man is shown trying to rescue the cameraman.

The report is followed by a live satellite interview with Al-Jazeera's correspondent in Gaza Wa'il al-Dahduh to update on the health condition of Ghanim. Al-Dahduh cites Palestinian medical sources as saying that Ghanim is in "a serious and difficult situation," and that his two legs were severed.
